The licence in plain words

This summary is not the licence. The licence text is what binds, and a written agreement with us can change parts of it.

• Licensed, not sold. You may not install, run, use, copy, modify, distribute or host Agent Office for others without a valid licence from Agent Office LLC, and then only as that licence allows.
• A valid licence is a paid licence, bought from us or an authorised partner, or a no-charge licence we grant in writing: an evaluation licence, or a not-for-resale licence under a partner agreement.
• Access is not a licence. Having a copy of the software, or access to a running instance, does not give you a licence.
• Restrictions. Unless the law expressly allows it, no reverse engineering of parts supplied only in object form, no removing notices, and no getting around access controls.
• Third-party components keep their own licences, and nothing in the licence restricts the rights those give you.
• Ending. A licence ends automatically if you breach it; you then stop using the software and destroy your copies. After an evaluation, only our material is deleted: your own data stays yours.
• No warranty, and a cap on liability. Unless a written agreement says otherwise, the software is provided as is, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for your licence in the twelve months before a claim. For an evaluation the cap is US$100.
• Confidentiality. The software, its source code and unpublished documentation are confidential. Share them only with staff and contractors who need them, never publish them, and never use them to build a competing product. The duty lasts 5 years after your licence ends, and longer for trade secrets.
• Texas law governs the licence, and the state and federal courts in Texas decide disputes.

The people in the office pictures on this site are Agent Office's optional avatar cast. The cast is a modified version of bodies and motion from the Microsoft Rocketbox Avatar Library, converted and reduced for the office. It is not published yet; a new install shows simpler generated people instead. The cast is used under this licence:
